Ibiza is legendary for its incredible nightlife. In the Guinness Book of World Records, Ibiza is recorded as the 'entertainment island of the world'. Several thousands of people flock here during the summer to participate in their night parties that are known to go on till the wee hours of the morning.

In the 1960s, Ibiza became an accepted haunt of hippies, who were enchanted by the magnificent weather, wonderful scenery and spell binding beaches. This brought about the onset of party culture and nightclubs in the area.

The large clubs of Amnesia and Pacha, which opened in Ibiza in the 1970s, were mainly responsible for the club culture here. They were accountable in making them fashionable and attracted the rich and famous into their fold.

Several DJs were responsible for establishing their own brand of music. They became famous and were soon performing to a crowd of more than 3000 strong night clubbers.

Admission charges are found to be very high and charges for drinks are quite expensive. The dance floors are at times filled with foam as a special attractive feature for tourists. The smaller clubs do not have such major attractions and yet have a charm that is their own.

Partygoers in this place do not have a dress code of their own and party animals generally set trends and follow the strong fashion style of the island. During the peak tourist bus services are specially run connecting Sant Antoni with Ibiza city, where the nightclubs are concentrated.

There is no single specific style of music that is performed in these nightclubs. However, most of the music is a fusion of Latin and funk rhythms mixed with strong beats.

Privilege is the world's largest club, near San Rafael. Privilege is one of the largest nightclubs and can hold a crowd of around 10,000 guests. The various nightclubs offer different themes as attractions every night. Manumission is a party that is carried out every Friday during summers. Pacha, Es Parades, Eden, Space, Amnesia and El Divino are some of the other top nightclubs in the region.
