Weather

The island of Jamaica lies 18 degrees above the equator and experiences a tropical climate. The average annual temperature of Jamaica is 81 degrees Fahrenheit. The summer months of May to September are only marginally warmer than the winter season from December to March. Annual temperature extremes differ by a mere 12-degree margin. The weather in Jamaica changes dramatically with increase in altitude. Highland regions within the island have a more temperate climate. Winter nights can get pretty cold with temperatures dropping below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
