Dining

Good food is as much an element of Las Vegas' characteristic aura as the lavish casinos. In Las Vegas, you will find everything from hotel and casino buffets to restaurants situated on the Strip, serving cuisines that reflect every culture. Restaurants such as Royal Star, Camelot and Fusia offer a wide variety of the most excellent foods from all over the world in a great ambiance. You can also have your dinner prepared by the famous chef, Emeril Lagasse at the DelMonico's Steakhouse at the Venetian. You will have to make reservations for a majority of the Las Vegas restaurants, especially during the peak hours.

From the world-renowned Strip to downtown, a majority of the hotels offer the best dining experience at reasonable prices. If you do not wish to spend much, you can try Las Vegas Buffets, which are very moderately priced and found in nearly every casino. If you are looking for a more relaxed dining experience, you can visit the Strip, which has many buffets and casual restaurants that serve an assortment of different cuisines. Here you will find everything from Mexican, Asian and French to American food at moderate prices. This type of dining suits those who do not want to make reservations but still make the best of Las Vegas dining.

A lot of hotels have champagne brunches on weekends, but these are expensive. There are other hotels offering theme buffets, which serve different cuisines such as seafood, Italian or Greek cuisine. Las Vegas is also renowned for shrimp cocktails. The shrimps are huge and the rates are low, usually not above US $ 1.50.

In spite of there being several upscale restaurants in Las Vegas, you can find a complete steak dinner for US $ 5 in Ellis Island, shrimp cocktails for 99 cents at Golden Gate, and breakfast specials for US $3 at Arizona Charlie's. Other restaurants such as Memphis Championship Barbecue, Doña Maria, and Billy Bob's Steak House are also moderately priced and offer quality food.
