1. Air

The McCarran airport is situated at a distance of around two kilometers (1 mile) from the south of the Las Vegas Strip. Walkways and free shuttle buses connect the two terminals of the airport. Regular bus services connect the airport with The Strip and downtown Las Vegas, dropping tourists at most of the major hotels. Taxis are also available outside the airport. However, they might be quite expensive. The buses 108 and 109 run between the South Strip Transfer Terminal and the Downtown Transportation Center. Some of the major airlines operating in Las Vegas include Alaska Airlines, Air Vegas Airlines, American Trans Air, American Airlines, Allegiant Air, Continental, British Airways and Delta to name a few.

2. Bus

The CAT (Citizen's area Transit) service operates in 39 scheduled routes all through the valley of Las Vegas including Mesquite and Laughlin. The buses usually operate between 5.30am till 1.30am in the morning, seven days a week. They also provide round the clock service between the Strip and downtown Las Vegas. Shuttle buses and limousines can be found outside the exits 8 to 14. The exits are on the west and north sides of the area for claiming baggage. For people who cannot use regular bus services independently, specially equipped buses with wheelchairs can also be availed of.

A number of car hire companies operate in Las Vegas, providing rental cars to those who want the convenience of travel according to their own schedule during their stay in Las Vegas. Some of these companies include Dollar, Budget, Avis and Hertz. Tourists can also reach several other companies by calling them for details. For obtaining the details of rates and other terms and conditions of the different car rental companies, tourists may visit the respective company's website. These sites also permit users to book the cars online. The rates vary according to different location and tend to change very fast. It is advisable to book cars as early as possible to ensure the best deals.

4. Ferry

A number of ferry services operate in Las Vegas, organizing river trips and providing various other facilities. It is advisable to make early bookings in order to ensure availability and travel on your preferred dates.

5. Ship

Cruise ships ply between different destinations and Las Vegas with a variety of entertainment for the passengers on board. Boat cruises to Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and other interesting spots are also arranged by these cruise lines. Various facilities such as pick up from the hotels, round transportation and light lunch boxes are part of these cruises.

6. Taxi

Tourists can find taxis at the airport, outside exits 1 to 5, on the east side of the luggage claim area. Some of the major companies operating taxicabs in Las Vegas include Nellis, Checker, Yellow, Star, Henderson, Desert, Lucky, Whittlesea and Western to name a few. All these companies charge an additional $1.20 on all standard fares for rides from the airport.
