Malaysia is relatively expensive when it comes to hotels. Most hotels are in the luxury segments that cater to traveling businessmen and the elite. However, considering the value of the Ringet in comparison to stronger currencies like the dollar and pound, the hotels work out to be quite cheap. A few cater to families and couples and these are relatively moderately priced. All hotels accept only local currency, although a few bigger ones might accept dollars. Credit cards are acceptable in all big establishments.

Internationally recognized names such as Hilton, Holiday Inn and Marriott have their branches in Malaysia.
