1. Best Times to Go

You can visit Mauritius through out the year. The peak holiday season however, starts in October and ends during Easter with hotel prices dropping over the winter months.

One of the best times to visit Mauritius is during the winter (July to September) when temperatures drop and the air is less humid. Be prepared to spend a couple of days at the hotel due to heavy rainfall. December is the best time to go to enjoy diving. The months of June, July and August are best for surfing while October through April is excellent for big game fishing.

2. What to Wear

Smart, casual clothing is the best attire in Mauritius. Carry plenty of beachwear, and light clothing such as shorts, skirts and polo necks. You might require light woolen clothing during the winter. Carry sufficient sunscreen and appropriate sun protection. An umbrella or raincoat may be required while visiting Mauritius in the months of January, February and March.

Night dinners at restaurants may require formal attire. While visiting temples, do not wear shorts and skirts and remove your shoes before entering the premises.
