40 Vacations - Travel Guides - Destination Peru

Shopping

Peru is considered to be an exotic shopping destination in Latin America, with some indigenous and best priced crafts available anywhere.

Most of the goods are sold at fixed prices in shopping areas and large shops and cannot be negotiated for. However, items on the street or in the street market can be bargained for and hence you can obtain a good deal.

The finest worth and value lies in handcrafted products and hence you must buy at least some of these from this country. As a matter of fact some unique and exceptional gold, silver and copper works are available, as well as Peru's prosperous textile supplies. These comprise of alpaca clothing and woven wall hangings.

Ripley is Peruvian's brand that is bought by many local residents and other tourists as well. Ripley is a big market chain where you can shop for the whole lot ranging from clothes to electronic products. If you scout around in small shops in nooks and corners, you are likely to obtain low priced products.
