With the sun setting on the horizons, a completely new face of Prague emerges from the dark. Prague is known for its low crime and violence rates, thus making it quite safe for women to walk on the lonely streets of the city even at night. The nature of the general Czech people is usually helpful and respectful. However, it is important to remain alert about pickpockets, especially when you are drunk as most of the local beverages contain high levels of alcohol. The Czech police do not tolerate disorderly behavior due to excessive drinking. Therefore, it is advisable to be aware of your behavior and limit your drinking to a sensible level.

Some of the biggest nightclubs and pubs of Prague can be found around the Wenceslas Square. The clubs and pubs of this area are quite expensive as compared to the other areas. However, plenty of other local clubs are also available at much cheaper rates with equally interesting features. Most of these pubs and bars are open till 1' o clock in the morning during weekdays whereas closing times are postponed to 4.00 to 5.00 am during weekends. People with an adventurous bend of mind can also try out the several ‘herna' bars that remain open round the clock and are found all over the city. Known as an up-all-night place, Prague nightlife indulges in the latest and most fashionable club gear, although a pair of jeans and T-shirts can also work as fine for getting into the partying mood.

The club features a modern and somewhat dingy atmosphere with live DJs playing all sorts of music. The club provides an ideal place to hang out along with the large local crowd. The club has the capacity to accommodate up to 350 people. The number of sample wines reaches more than forty and has contributed to the huge popularity of this club. The winding corridors add to the spacious ambience of the interior decoration that offers a combination of old and new. A big dance floor, comfortable sofas to relax around and screenings of music videos and DVDs include some of the major features of this club. The hip-hop and R&B music played in the weekends make the club different from the other nightclubs of the city. A decent cocktail section including Czech and foreign beer on tap add to its other attractions.

Karlovy Lazne Dance Club

The Karlovy Lazne Dance Club offers an all night entertainment package with its Kaleidoscope, Paradogs, Discotheque and MCM Café in its four floors. A single entry fee is enough to access all the four levels. Each floor is unique in its ambience and music tunes with different kinds of lightings. Other facilities include soft cushions and comfy rugs to relax on. The place gets busy from 10pm onwards in the weekends and thus it is advisable to reach well in advance to avoid long queues.

Friends Prague Bar & Club

The ‘Friends' is one of the gay bars of Prague and is an ideal spot to spend a memorable night out. The setting offered by the club is large and comfortable with full air conditioning and adequate ventilation. The menu covers a wide variety of tastes and flavors. There are no cover charges and no limits against minimum consumption are set. The DJ parties are held from Wednesdays to Saturdays, starting from 10 pm onwards. Lucerna Music Bar and Club

The club is known for playing the famous numbers of the 80s and 90s during the weekends and popular Czech bands during the week. A simple interior with a charged up partying atmosphere and a semi-circular dance floor distinguishes the club from the others. Although the venue and music may not be appearing as the latest and trendiest of all, people seeking out for cheesy night outs would definitely come back here.

Duplex Dance Club and Café Bar

Reduta Jazz Club

The Reduta was inaugurated in 1958 and is known as one of the legendary jazz clubs of the area. Some of the most prominent local as well as international jazz musicians have performed here. All kinds of jazz music starting from traditional to modern jazz can be heard here.

Jazz Lounge

Visit Jazz Lounge to listen to some of the contemporary Latin Jazz music including the jazzmen of the Czech republic. Records of various artists can be found in the adjoining CD shop. The club also has a bar that is open from 7pm to 2am. Enjoy live music from 9pm to 12am daily.
