The island of Puerto Rico enjoys a warm, humid, tropical climate all throughout the year and the temperature generally revolves around 82º F. Temperature in the southern part of the island is usually a few degrees higher while the temperatures in the central interior mountain area is comparatively cooler than the rest of the island. The dry season usually extends from November to May but you can also expect short showers all throughout the year.

1. Best Times To Go

The peak tourist season in Puerto Rica ranges from December to April. In case you wish to avoid crowds, the best season to visit is in between May and November. However, tourists are dissuaded from visiting the island during this period, as the chances of hurricanes hitting the coast are the highest. The summer is considered to be the best season in case you plan to make a visit with your entire family.

2. What To Wear

The Puerto Ricans are a generally considered to be warm, gentle and extremely friendly. Your dressing is highly dependant on the time of the year you plan to make your visit. In case you plan to visit during the summer season, you are advised to carry along light and loose cotton clothing. However, in case you plan to visit during the winter season, you should carry along a sweater or appropriate woolen wear. Swimwear is usually accepted only on beaches. Elsewhere you will be expected to dress up informally.
