40 Vacations - Travel Guides - Destination Rio-de-janerio
Shopping
If you are planning to visit Rio de Janeiro, Gemstones are the main thing to shop for, since the headquarters of the well-known gem dealer, H Stern, is found in Rio. Apart from that you will also find numerous H Stern shops, mainly located in hotel lobbies or next to major hotels.
It is highly recommended that you don't buy gemstones from any street vendors, as they can always turn out to be fake and worth nothing.
Nightly on Copacabana beach you will find small artisan markets that are spread out along the road's median.
Rio Sul is another place you could decide to shop at the huge multi-story shopping mall with hundreds of stores and even an outstanding selection of fast food restaurants.
