Dining

Dining in Rome is eventful as it offers people a much larger selection as compared to a number of other places. As though keeping in mind its antiquity, certain restaurants take great pride in serving preparations that are as old as the city itself. Gourmet recipes, authentic delicacies, and mouth watering Italian food are the city's forte. The abundance of pastas, pizzas, salads, cheese dishes and wines say a lot about the city's dining preference. Tourists may choose to sideline Roman food and opt for French, American, Mediterranean and Continental dining. Based upon personal budget considerations people may eat out at reasonably priced sidewalk cafes or star rated "ristorantes." When on the look out for an eatery the task is simple because Romans often eat out and dining facilities and establishments are many. Trattories refer to family run restaurant businesses that dole out traditional dishes but of late have increased their price points. Expensive and ethnic dining rooms are abundant and attract a large number of people. Most Roman meals usually comprise of three separate courses as a minimum. This includes pasta, a main course of meat with vegetables or salad and dessert. Wine is affordable and diners may spend on a cup or two at lunch and dinner.
