St. Lucia is located within 14o North of the Equator and hence the climate is quite hot and humid. For the entire year, the average daily temperature ranges from as low as 68o Fahrenheit to a high of 85o Fahrenheit.

December and January are usually the coolest months while June to August are considered to be the hottest months. The months from June to December receive the maximum amount of rainfall. These months are also classified as the hurricane season. Since St. Lucia falls within the hurricane belt, it is exposed to several tropical storms each year.

The island's humidity varies from 76% to 83% year round with the northeast trade winds bringing in the cool breeze.

Constant trade winds and occasional showers all through the year make St. Lucia's weather incredibly favorable at all times.

St. Lucia can be visited throughout the year, as the weather is conducive for recreational activities as well as sightseeing. However, it should be noted that the months of July and August can get extremely hot. Most tourists avoid September, as it is the peak period of the hurricane season.

2. What To Wear

Clothing made from natural fibers such as cotton is best suitable for daily wear during the summers. Casual dressing is acceptable for most occasions but some of the upscale places may require formal wear.

Bathing suits, shorts and mini skirts are appropriate at the beach and in resorts but cannot be worn to common places in the town.

Carry sufficient sunscreen and appropriate sun protection like caps, hats and sunglasses. Durable and comfortable shoes may be required for various outdoor activities.
