After the sun goes down, Switzerland is the party central and the variety of nighttime entertainment can leave the best towns in Europe ashamed. The French and German speaking provinces of the country have their own unique nightlife. While cafes and lounges predominate the French scene, dance clubs and discos are more common on the other. A lot of the clubs play fusion and techno based music, as it seems to be quite popular with the locals. The most happening locations for night entertainment are located in Zurich and Geneva. These sections also have citywide revelry in the form of nocturnal parades and processions.

Switzerland also has a large number of dance schools prescribing to the arts of Tango, Swing, salsa, Cha Cha Cha as well as the native dances of the mountains. These schools regularly hold balls and dances that are open to the people. Information on the same can be obtained through the newspapers when these events are advertised.

Another great way to spend the night in Switzerland is to head for the slopes and indulge in some nighttime skiing. Many of the ski jumps and slopes operate well into the night and use floodlights to illuminate the path. The cafes in the surrounding areas also remain open so that people can thaw themselves after several wipeouts.

Switzerland is one of the preferred European destinations for international music concerts. Bern, Geneva and Zurich all host rock, pop, jazz and hip hop concerts where some of the biggest names in the music business perform.

Swiss bordellos have somewhat of an international repute. Depending on your choice, these places are relatively easy to find or avoid, just keep your eyes open.

This place has live singing to which you can dance or sit and enjoy with hot home-cooked meal. This is the place to head to for a quiet family dinner with entertainment, although the tavern music begins only after ten each night.

Zeus Bar and Club

This place has a romantic atmosphere, although it can get pretty noisy at times. It is meant for relaxed drinks and chats sessions and should not be approached if you wish to dance till you drop. The place is also avoided on really chilly evenings since it is quite open. Entry for adults only.

You are advised to head to this techno/trance destination in case you wish to loose yourself in the rhythm and beats of pulsating music. It has a great atmosphere with neon lights and a plentiful bar. The charges levied are relatively moderate.
