Tahiti has a vibrant nightlife with several choices that meet different individual preferences. Tahitian dance shows are extremely popular at resorts and are usually in conjunction with an extravagant feast of mouth watering Tahitian food. Every Tahitian resort hotel hosts a dance show at least one night every week. The Intercontinental Tahiti Beachcomber Resort is host to the Grande Danse de Tahiti troupe that livens most evenings with their traditional dance performances. The Captain Bligh Restaurant and Bar host some splendid conventional dances at dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.

Tahiti has a large number of discotheques and pubs ranging from upscale and elite discotheques to cheap bars and dance halls. Private clubs are expensive and host parties quite regularly. Everything gets into full throttle after 9:00pm. Late night strip shows are popular at several bars and pubs at most places in Tahiti. A more sophisticated way of spending the night is to enjoy the live band performance at the Le Royal Tahitian Hotel in Pirae.

The renowned rock café in down town Rue des ecoles is open daily from 8:00am to 3:00am during the week and till 4:00am on Friday and Saturday nights. Relatively cheap drinks and quality rock music provides a nice environment for visitors to spend the night at their own pace.

Le Tikisoft Cafe

The café is famous for its Rock n Roll music, blues and techno music accompanied by a wide selection of drinks. It is open every day from 7pm to 11pm on weeknights and until 1am on weekends.

Le Paradise

A popular pub at night, the Le Paradise plays some of the best African and West Indian rhythms and also hosts karaoke nights on Wednesdays and Tahitian theme evenings on Thursdays. The pub is open every day from 10pm to 3am.
