The trade winds pass over Turks and Caicos for most part of the year and thereby keep the island comfortably warm all the time. The sunshine is nearly perpetual with an average of 350 days of sun per year. Temperature variations are rare and the average winter temperature is only a few degrees lower than the summer.

Summer lasts from April till September or October. The temperature at this time is about 85°F (29°C) to 90°F (32°C). It starts raining usually from June onwards till September and the average annual rainfall is 26 inches of water every year without causing any disconcerts. This season is also the official season for tropical hurricanes. The winter season is usually during the months from October to March. During this time, the temperature falls a bit, but the nights can be quite chilly.

The weather is very moderate in the Turks and Caicos Islands and anytime of the year can be regarded as favorable to visit. Nonetheless, the winter months of December, January, February and March are the peak tourist seasons. During these times, the islands are crowded to its capacity, and quiet a few events take place here.

If you were looking towards a really calm and slow vacation, then the best time to go would be between April and July. This is when the island is secluded and you get your much-desired privacy.

The month of August should be avoided since it is generally hot and humid at this time. Moreover this is the time for hurricanes.

2. What to Wear

Since the island is comfortably hot, shorts and sun frocks can be worn on the beach as well as in town. The wind picks up force any night so long pants, light jackets and sweaters are recommended. Nudity is illegal on the Turks and Caicos Islands, although there are a few hotels that will allow guests to roam as they wish.
